On June 21st, the 2016 China Internet Conference was held at the Beijing International Convention Center. Sootoo.com conducted an exclusive interview with Yu Lijuan, CEO of Chuangqi Tianxia and Secretary-General of the WeChat Business Working Group of the Internet Society of China, discussing the booming WeChat Business world in recent years.

Regarding the lack of recognition for WeChat business in recent years, Yu Lijuan believes it is influenced by two aspects. Firstly, due to its extremely rapid growth from 2014 to 2015, some issues emerged during this period of rapid development. For example, there were some counterfeit and inferior products, as well as some pyramid schemes, and some WeChat businesses were acquired by others. However, any new emerging thing will inevitably encounter problems during its development process, and these problems are often magnified. Some good things are often weakened.

Regarding the overall industry development trend of WeChat business, Yu Lijuan believes it is quite promising. This year, the Internet Society of China will release the 2016 report on the development of China's WeChat business industry, which will describe the scale of the WeChat business industry. According to estimates, it will be within a range of 360 billion yuan; as for the number of practitioners, it is estimated to be around 15 million people, and the overall industry scale is growing rapidly.

In the past year, the target audience of WeChat business has been undergoing a shift, evolving from grassroots to individuals with certain reputations. In response to this phenomenon, Yu Lijuan stated that this is a very important trend among the eight trends of WeChat business this year, which is the generalization of WeChat business. More people and enterprises are entering the field of WeChat business. Originally, it might have been purely WeChat business brands, but this year, many large enterprises have switched to using WeChat business methods for their marketing.

When it comes to WeChat commerce, it's definitely inseparable from e-commerce. So what is the future development direction of e-commerce? Yu Lijuan stated that the overall development direction of e-commerce will definitely become more and more integrated into people's lives. The rapid growth can be seen from its data. More and more enterprises are shifting their marketing expenses and methods to the internet. In the context of a good overall direction, Yu Lijuan believes that the internet will indeed become fragmented. The state of a hundred flowers blooming makes it increasingly difficult for users to concentrate on one platform. Taking traditional commerce as an example, Wangfujing Department Store may attract people from all over China, which is the era of Internet 1.0; in the era of Internet 2.0, Taobao gathered all the traffic; in the era of Internet 3.0, the characteristics of the internet will become more and more obvious, such as fragmentation, rating, and interaction.
